The asteroid does not generate a field the way Earth does. If it once had a core dynamo, that field may still be written in the metal. The spacecraft will look. Arrival 2029.
What it supports
Weiss et al. 2023, Space Sci. Rev. The Magnetometry Investigation can detect a remanent moment above 2×10¹⁴ A m². A detection would be strong evidence that Psyche is a planetesimal core. Absence would not close the origin question by itself. Boom 2 m. Not a 42.
What it does not
Not a measured field. Not 42. Not 4.20 g cm⁻³. Not the natal lamp.
