What it supports

A real radio telescope at Hat Creek, built for SETI and radio astronomy. SETI Institute: 42 antennas, each 6 m. The intended array was about 350. Operations with ATA-42 began 11 October 2007. An instrument is sitting there. The correspondence is not manufactured.

What it does not

Not a Hitchhiker homage as the design reason. Not 42 as a cosmic constant in the sky. Incomplete funding is the reason the count is 42.
