Tower 42

42

name
Recorded

25 Old Broad Street, City of London. Former NatWest Tower. Named Tower 42 after the bank left.

London’s first City skyscraper. Seifert designed it for NatWest. It opened in 1980, the Queen in 1981. Later the building was named Tower 42. The integer is the public name. Published notes give 47 levels above ground, 42 of them cantilevered in three leaves.

What it supports

An authored name on a standing building. Official estate tower42. com. R. Seifert and Partners. Pell Frischmann. Height 183 m. Wikipedia and later architectural notes print 47 above-grade levels, 42 cantilevered.

What it does not

Not Adams. Not a sky 42. 183 m is not 42. Vertigo 42 is a bar on a floor, reception of the name. This sitting does not hold a Seifert or Pell Frischmann drawing for the cantilever count.
