Measured
Laschamps geomagnetic excursion
A real geomagnetic excursion dated around forty-two thousand years ago. Cooper, Turney and colleagues named a transitional phase the Adams Event. Homage is a fact about the paper’s naming. It is not Hitchhiker proof.
What it supports
An attested palaeomagnetic event. Science 2021 pins chronology with Kauri rings and radiocarbon. Global dipole intensity dropped sharply. Units are millennia. A 42-ka drama the Book can hold without rewriting consciousness.
What it does not
Not exactly 42,000 years as a round cosmic chime. Dating carries uncertainty. The Adams name is homage, not geomagnetic evidence, and not a second Adams 42.
