When NASA extended Juno in January 2021, the plan scheduled 42 more orbits. Close passes of Ganymede, Europa, and Io. Rings. Polar cyclones.
What it supports
A dated NASA mission-extension count. Prime mission ended July 2021. The 42 is a schedule, not a property of Jupiter.
What it does not
Not Io’s 42.5 hour period. Not a law of the planet. An operations number is not a harmonic of the sky.
